The Dakota Synfuels plant is committed to health, safety, and the environment. The groundwater and air quality are monitored around the plant. The plant has also reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 50 percent since 2000.
The Dakota Synfuels plant participates in the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care Program to help ensure environmental care. The plant offers public education to inform people what to do in an emergency, along with a “reverse 9-1-1” system in which the plant calls residents along pipelines, for example, in an emergency situation.
