What is Wind Energy?
Wind energy harnesses the motion energy in wind power by using wind to turn turbines attached to generators.
Advantages of Wind Energy
- -Wind energy is a renewable source that has no air emissions
- -It’s a low-cost source because it does not require fuel.
Disadvantages of Wind Energy
- – Wind turbines require a lot of real estate and some people may not like to look at them.
- -The turbines are shut down when wind conditions aren’t ideal.
- -This intermittent power generation makes a backup energy source like coal necessary.
- -Turbines can also kill birds when they are built in migration pathways.
