How quickly a power plant can be built and begin producing electricity is another consideration.
Capacity
Another consideration is the availability of the fuel source used to produce electricity. Lignite plants in North Dakota use coal from relatively low-cost mines and they can generate high electrical loads.
Demand
Lastly, the electricity demands are a huge factor. Different sources are better for areas where electricity demands fluctuate, while others are better for a consistent need.
